Ambulance: Rostraver / West Newton Emergency Services
The Rostraver /West Newton E m e r g e n c y Service (724-929-9116) is a nonprofit organization that was formed in the summer of 1976 by a group of individuals that consisted of a funeral director, businessmen /women, and residents of Rostraver Township. The Rostraver Emergency Medical Service’s first service location was the current James Stump Funeral Home. Its current location is 100 Pleasant Valley Boulevard. Community support is strong and thriving with volunteers. These volunteers ranged from drivers, CPR, or First Aid training, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Emergency Medical Technician Paramedics. In 1996, REMS merged with West Newton Community Ambulance Services, forming Rostraver / West Newton Emergency Services. This merger allows them to provide EMS to Rostraver and West Newton. Rostraver / West Newton Emergency Service is the parent organization of Tri-County K-9 Team – Search and rescue dogs, and Mon Valley Search and Rescue Divers.
